The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Typical high school problems, love, wild parties and family stress. Starring Emma Watson.
Charlie is a shy boy who starts high school in the 1990's. After his only friend commits suicide and he spends time in therapy, he feels like an outsider. But that begins to change when he meets Sam and her gay stepbrother Patrick, who are just as different as he is and who share a love of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and indie rock. But as much as he wants to become an adult, past emotional pain catches up with him and brings new problems...
There are many movies about high school, but few are actually as truthful, smart and engaging as Stephen Chbosky's debut, adapted from his own novel. The story of an outsider who overcomes all kinds of difficulties, finding friends of his own and love, covers just about every facet and emotion of being a teenager. The Perks of Being a Wallflower proves that stories about puberty don't have to be childish.
