Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel somewhere between fantasy and reality. Action thriller by Len Wiseman.

For assembly line worker Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), life in the early 22nd century is not much fun. Most of the planet is inhabitable, living is hard and depressing. His only highlight is his wife Lori (Kate Beckinsale). One day, Douglas hears about Rekall, a company that turns dreams into reality. But when things go wrong, the factory worker becomes a man with a different “true” identity, hunted by an army of synthetic police officers controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston). His only ally is the rebel Melina (Jessica Biel), who works for the underground movement led by Matthias (Bill Nighy).

Fans of the original will be happy to learn many details remain the same, from the hooker with three breasts to the woman at customs, with a wink and a nod at the original. Less successful is the movie's futuristic world; it's rainy gloom is too reminiscent of Blade Runner and the synthetic police look so much like storm troopers out of George Lucas' Clone Wars, it will have you looking around for Yoda.
