A man fired from his job goes to work anyway and has a day full of weird surprises.

At 7:60 (!) in the morning, Dolph Springer gets up and finds his day beginning strangely when his dog doesn’t answer his call. As he searches for his beloved pooch, Dolph goes on with his life, even going to work although he was fired three months before and even though his co-workers give him grief. A home-delivered pizza would be just the thing to make the day right again, but then his gardener tells Dolph that his palm tree has turned into a fir over night! Then he’s contacted by the mysterious Master Chang, who may have valuable information about the disappearance of his dog. But this won’t be Dolph’s last surprise...

Cynnical viewers will have a hard time with this slew of exponential absurdities. On the other hand, there are no boring people in Quentin Dupieux’s bizarre world – as witnessed by his previous movie Rubber, in which the main character was a homicidal tire.
