After attempting to literally steal the moon, Gru, ex-super-vilan, now leads a - slightly weird - but happy family life with his three beloved adoptive daughters and his trusty minions. One thing only is lacking for the idyllic tableau: a love interest for the grumpy new dad. Also, when Gru finds himself recruited, very much against his will, by the Anti Vilan League, he embarks on an adventure that might bring him a tad more than he was initially looking for...

Universal and Illumination studios come back for seconds with this sequel to the nice surprise Despicable Me was, making, this time around, a bit more room for the irresistible minions, without however letting them completely invade the film. Though it is less original than the first one, Despicable Me 2 is just as good, maybe even funnier; with its big heart, goofy jokes, and loveable characters. The animation isn't as beautiful as Pixar's always is, and the film never strikes the same emotional chords, but it's an extremely amusing movie kids and parents will love to bits.
