Enough Said
Two middle-aged divorcés try their hand at love again. Starring James Gandolfini in his last role.
Eva (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is a masseuse, she’s divorced and the single mother of a daughter on her way to college. One evening, she meets Albert (James Gandolfini) and they begin a wonderfully romantic relationship. At the same time, Eva becomes friends with Marianne (Catherine Keener), one of her new clients. When Eva finds out Marianne is Albert’s ex-wife, she begins to look at Albert more critically, even though everything was going so well.
Director Nicole Holofcener already made a name for herself with Woody Allen-esque comedies like Friends With Money and Please Give. Enough Said continues along this vein as her best thus far. Her characters and humor are likeable, believable and funny – a rarity in this age. With fabulous performances by TV legends Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini, to whom Holofcener inadvertently offers a memorial.
