Mia is determined to get off the drugs she's addicted to by going to a cabin in the woods with her brother and their friends to dry out. But the place has obviously been the site of unorthodox rituals, as attested by the burnt cross beam in the cellar and the many cats hanging from its ceiling. They also find a strange book of spells wrapped in wire. One of the boys makes the mistake of opening it and reading a few passages out loud, letting an evil power escape that that vows to get all of them. Mia is the first victim, but the others think she's just going through withdrawal and refuse to listen to her until it's too late...

A modern remake of the cult movie directed in 1981 by Sam Raimi, Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead is a veritable bloodfest, an ad for the local butcher, sliced just the way you like it. There's no point in running away, the Abomination is gonna getcha! Some characters find themselves with no arms – and therefore no chocolate, as Omar Sy would say... Bon appétit!
