Jack the Giant Slayer
A young farmhand goes on an adventure to save a princess.
The story of a young farmhand named Jack, who saves a kingdom from man-eating giants from another world and falls for a princess has been popular for centuries. Now Bryan Singer has adapted the story. Together with real stars like Eleanor Tomlinson, Nicolas Hoult, Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor he presents a challenging and elaborately directed adventure in 3-D.
Jack the Giant Slayer is dominated by a horde of scary, computer-generated virtual giants. This is cool at first, but becomes less interesting as things go on: the endlessly repetitive special effects lose their value relatively quickly. Together with a thin plot lacking in humor and charm, this results in entertainment that only half hits the mark.
