Isabelle (Marine Vacth) loses her virginity during her 17th summer while on vacation in the south of France. The boy is just passing through and will go on to do the same with others, some older, when Isabelle goes back to Paris. For four seasons, she investigates her sexuality by offering her services online – an easy feat, given her beauty. Thanks to her youth, she experiments with sex without letting it affect her feelings. Until her family finds out. How could a girl from a good family, who wants for nothing, turn to prostitution? Her mother (Géraldine Pailhas) sets out to find the answer by sending her to a shrink.

François Ozon dares to take on a subject currently in trend – prostitution among students – by avoiding the economic factor and going directly to the issue of adolescent experience. The loss of innocence, passage to adulthood, turning against convention, cutting the chord for good, in one’s own way, tearing oneself away from childhood.
