A retired cop and an Interpol agent team up for an investigation of child trafficking.

A series of bodies are found, with their eardrums pierced, whose names are on a list belonging to a man who buys orphaned children. That's all it takes to motivate Captain Kasdan (Gerard Depardieu) into action, even if he is retired. He begins to investigate and soon runs across Franck (Joey Starr), a mysterious Interpol agent with a great interest in this sordid affair who has a tendency to lose control thanks to his love of drugs. The two men get a lead about orphaned children recruited for a choir directed by people close to Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet...

These days, The Chorists are trained to kill with their piercing voices. While not recommended to pedophobes of all kinds or parents who have a hard time hearing their own children scream, La marque des anges is not bound to interest anyone else either, except maybe those who like a plot that manages to be both convoluted and simplistic, mixing the Chilean dictatorship with contemporary corruption and a Nazi zest. But the most deafening part is not the soundtrack: it's the lament of the former-orphan-with-a-painful-past-who's-overcome-everything-to-become-a-super-cop. Come on, Joey, leave the choir and go back to your beats!
