Le grand méchant loup
Three brothers gather together at their sick mother's bedside. Comedy starring Benoît Poelvoorde and Kad Mérad.
Once upon a time... three brothers, who have each built their own home, gathered together at their sick mother's bedside. About to turn forty, the fear of their mother dying makes them question the time that has passed and what they've done with it. Philippe (Benoît Poelvoorde) is the first to open his door to the big bad wolf: Natacha (Charlotte Le Bon). Under the amused and envious gaze of Henri (Fred Testot), who soon cracks open the shutters part way and sneaks a look at his neighbor. The two then find refuge with their older brother Louis (Kad Mérad), who offers up advice on married life – always with the same conviction. The three brothers discover a few cracks in a home that had seemed before to be solid.
Nicolas Charlet and Bruno Lavaine's comedy is full of snappy dialog and a well-chosen cast of characters. This remake of the Québécois "3 P'tits Cochons" proves the fairy tale to be just as charming when adapted to adult lives – with the wolf standing in for choices made and temptations that attract. Full of quick comebacks that hit their marks perfectly, this is a superb comedy!
