A story about competition, friendship and chutzpah, starring Gérard Depardieu.
Momo has played boules with Jacky since childhood. The two friends spend their days fleecing other players who bet against Momo, unaware that he’s a ringer and an expert at the game. Despite their good times, the two get stuck in the easy life and soon find themselves greatly in debt. Afraid they won’t be able to get back on track, they take one last chance: Momo registers for an international pétanque competition. But things quickly go wrong when Momo is accused of being in France illegally...
A story about competition, friendship and chutzpah, based on a simple but original idea by Atmen Kelif, who also stars. With a moving performance by Gérard Depardieu, and the always reliable Daniel Prévost and Edouard Baer, as well as the funny and wonderfully fresh Virginie Efira. There are a few too many impossible twists and turns, but the film remains exceedingly charming.
