Two old friends fall for each others' sons. Starring Robin Wright and Naomi Watts.

Lil and Roz grew up together on the Australian coast and the years have made their bond ever stronger. Each the mother of a son, the women spend most of their time in the company of these two extremely buff young men. Trouble comes slowly but surely, as both Lil and Roz cross a line that is difficult to ignore as they fall for each others' sons. Realizing their affairs are immoral and that they should let the young men live their lives with women their own age, the two mothers each try to break it off. But the apple they have bitten into is too tempting not to nibble to the core...

Tumultuous relationships in a dreamy beach setting, where the sun warms hearts and especially bodies. The cheesy romance novel side of Perfect Mothers doesn't ruin the sensuality supplied by these emotional taboos, despite the somewhat voyeuristic role of the audience - which gets to watch a plot that borders on sinful, but isn't really. At most there is a small infraction of tacit social rules about how mothers should behave.
