A team of retired C.I.A agents get back to work.
A team of retired C.I.A agents get back to work when a case they dealt with in their past resurfaces. They must find and disarm a secret portable nuclear weapon before it gets in the wrong hands. They might also have to face a few quite familiar enemies. Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, the incredible Helen Mirren, side by side with Anthony Hopkins and Catherine Zeta-Jones in this second installment of RED, a second serving of explosive and generous action.
If the casting sure is appealing, the formula doesn't work. It's a waste of wonderful talent, money and time for the audience. Some scenes are amusing but predictable, and the rest of them are aggravating, especially when one has to endure Bruce Willis' girlfriend's insufferable non-stop childish giggling. Byung-Hung Lee's fight scenes and Anthony Hopkins mark the high points in an otherwise unfunny and useless film.
