The silly tin can named Ritter Rost wants to win at all costs in a tournament duel against favorite Prince Protz. To this end, he even swaps the much-loved sewing machine of his maiden Bö for a stolen special motor for his horse, Feuerstuhl. But he gets caught and the king takes away his knight's license and his castle. When even Bö turns against him and goes to live with his archenemy Protz, who has meanwhile toppled the king, the homeless cash register does all he can, with the help of the Koks the dragon and Feuerstuhl, to save his honor.

The books and musicals by Jörg Hilbert about the antihero Ritter Rost have long been classics in children's rooms throughout Germany. Despite visual uniqueness and prominent voice actors, this 3D animated adventure is miles away from the irreverence of the source material.
