A few months before retirement, Gianni finds out he has to work three more years in a new office outside Rome. A new setting, a new boss, new colleagues but all the same problems lie in store for this soft 60-something who is as docile as a lamb. Until the day his doctor tells him that stress is ruining his health and that he should stop avoiding conflict. A new life begins for Gianni…

Gianni is back. After Mid-August Lunch and The Salt of Life , the Italian director, screenwriter and actor Gianni Di Gregorio is reunited with his alter ego to explore yet another side of the lives of men of a certain age: retirement and the issues it raises. Starting with a pitch that is a simplistic as the character’s expressions, Buoni a Nulla accumulates clichés and grotesque situations with congenial humor. But the story, in praise of individualism and the pyramid of terror, seems in the end to collapse onto its own emptiness. A comedy that is either inoffensive or useless, it’s your choice.
