Purple aliens decide to make Earth their new home, but by mistake one of them (Jim Parsons) reveals their hiding place. Forced to flee, he meets a girl named Tip (Rihanna), who is searching for her mother (Jennifer Lopez). Together they go on an adventure, eventually realizing that the issues they face are much more complex than just intergalactic discord...

Directed by Tim Johnson (DreamWorks), this uplifting animated movie was inspired by an illustrated children’s book, The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex, published in 2007. Johnson has put his heart and soul into a project dear to him, as evidenced by 2006’s successful Over the Hedge, which also dealt with the coexistence between human beings and a strange species. He takes on the subject again with a great deal of humor and characters that are extremely appealing, despite their many faults. The dialogues are rhythmical, funny and off the wall, as are the various colorful landscapes. In 1998, Johnson had his first animated film, Antz, voiced by Hollywood’s biggest stars. He uses the same strategy for Home which features Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory), the singer Rihanna, the inimitable Steve Martin and the actress and singer Jennifer Lopez. The movie was a box office hit in the States and has the potential for the same in Europe.
