Big budget flick that is true to the novels about secret agent Jack Ryan as written by bestselling author Tom Clancy. The performances of Kevin Costner and Kenneth Branagh, as the Russian bad guy, and a well-constructed plot are thoroughly convincing. Branagh’s reboot follows and even exceeds the four Jack Ryan adaptations made so far between 1990 and 2013 (The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears).
