A prophecy foretells of a man who will awaken the wonderful world of Lego.

In the awesome world of Lego, everyone is happy and healthy, boxed up in a dictatorship of good humor and obedience. But a prophecy foretells of a man who is different and capable of great things, starting with the overthrow of the evil Lord Business, who’s threatening to destroy the world. The hero’s name is Emmet Brickowski, a courageous man who doesn’t seem heroic at all.

A first glance, this Lego adventure looks like fun. Constructed with impressive simplicity like a giant blockbuster snapped together using little pieces, riddled with irony and cultural references, it offers easy and fun entertainment. But it’s hard not to leave the theater without the bitter impression that here too, the aim is to sell toys and get audiences ready for a stream of the very sequels it makes fun of.
