While considering resigning from his post as a Secret Service agent protecting the President of the United States to enjoy life with his wife and future child, Mike Banning goes to London to attend the funeral of the British prime minister. But when a team of mercenaries attack the delegation, which includes all major world leaders, Mike realizes that this is a trap set by terrorists out to get the US president, whom he will have to protect at all costs within a besieged city...

In 2013, two movies were released that were oddly similar: White House Down, starring Channing Tatum as the savior of the US president, and Olympus Has Fallen, starring Gerard Butler as the savior of the US president. Although the first was much more successful, the second has since won the battle by getting a sequel, which moves the action and explosions to London. Needless to say, the movie is stupid, stereotyped, full of bad jokes and ridiculous dialogues, with a cookie-cutter plot reminiscent of cheesy action movies of the 90s. The dead giveaway is Butler, whose career has become increasingly comic. London Has Fallen is sure to satisfy fans of the genre, who generally have no trouble with explosive and mindless entertainment.
