The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man faces Electro, an electrical engineer who is transformed into a killing machine.
Spider-Man continues to fight crime, but behind the mask, Peter Parker has to battle his ultimate fear: that Gwen might be harmed in the process. While she makes a big decision about their future, Peter meets up with his childhood friend Harry, who is in New York for the funeral of his father, Norman Osborn. As Osborn reveals huge secrets to his only son, a new enemy surfaces: Electro, an electrical engineer who is transformed into a killing machine and who wants to destroy Spider-Man...
The failure of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is as enormous at its own titanic ambitions. With a $200 million budget, multiple enemies, a 2:20 run time and obvious preparation laid down for future sequels, Marc Webb’s movie is clearly going after the Avengers franchise. Unfortunately, there neither humor, energy, finesse nor iconic dimension. This movie is stunningly boring, dragging on between hollow romance and lifeless action scenes until its shocking climax, which at least reawakens the audience for a few minutes. A colossal flop.
