Alan Turing, the renowned mathematician, helps the Allies win WWII by decrypting the codes generated by the Enigma machine. The group of mathematicians, linguists, chess champions and secret agents are assisted by Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who supplies them with all the necessary resources.

Benedict Cumberbatch offers a breathtaking performance in a role that takes full advantage of his talents. Costar Keira Knightley is true to herself, no more, no less. A movie with no real danger involved, but one that lets the actors use their expertise, thanks to a delightful screenplay that takes some liberties with reality, reminding audiences of the importance of cryptography during the Second World War. It also depicts the persecution of the homosexual community during this time, to which Turing belonged.
