Transformers: Age of Extinction
Wounded and fleeing the government’s elite troops, Optimus Prime is found somewhere in Texas by a family man.
With the city of Chicago destroyed in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the American government goes after every Autobot to protect the planet from all robot threats. With an elite unit in search of Optimus Prime, Cade Yeager, a Texas family man and inventor, discovers that that truck he has salvaged is the wounded Autobot. Hunted together with his daughter and girlfriend by the authorities, Yeager soon realizes there is a new threat on Earth...
The enormous success of the Transformers saga not only reanimated the career of producer Michael Bay in the wake of the disappointing The Island, it also fed his ego. At 2 hours, 45 minutes, Age of Extinction pushes the boundaries of Hollywood torture as an overblown and tasteless spectacle built around a hollow story, ridiculous characters and unbearable dialogue. Lovers of blockbusters stuffed with massive destruction will most likely be satisfied by this absurd bit of debauchery rife with visual and sound effects, but lets hope a large part of the public remains reasonable.
