Professor X and Magneto send Wolverine back in time to the 70’s to change history.
In a dark future, the world has been reduced to rubble by the Sentinels, an army of indestructible robots, programmed to find and destroy mutants and those who may become mutants. Professor X and Magneto, accompanied by other mutants on horseback, ask Kitty Pryde to use her powers to change the course of history. And so Wolverine is sent back in time to the 70’s to reunite the young Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, to stop Mystique from assassinating Bolivar Trask, the creator of the future Sentinels and thus avoid the resulting apocalypse...
With its super-franchise, Marvel has completely changed the genre. Winning over and retaining audiences has now become vital for success, and with its strategy of mixing two franchises, the new X-Men sticks to this rule. What distinguishes this movie from the awful Amazing Spider-Man 2 is its dramatic ambition, its intact metaphoric approach and is desire to offer an intense spectacle led by a solid screenplay. Absolutely classic, the movie is nevertheless a great success with the superhero galaxy.
