When Kiki finds out he has cancer and only a few months left to live, he refuses to let the news destroy those around him. And so he decides to hide it from his best and inseparable friends Bilou, Gérôme, Tony and Pancho. But when he tells them he wants to sail around the world, they realize something is wrong…

On voulait tout casser is a disaster from beginning to end, from its syrupy dialogue to its caricatured characters, the awfully hammy Kad Merad, a ridiculous soundtrack and transparent directing (if you’re feeling generous, Benoît Magimel and Vincent Moscato are less terrible than the others). It is a TV movie hoisted to the big screen, revealing a worthless production system in the process. Like a bad joke turned into an unpleasant experience, Philippe Guillard’s movie drags on, bogged down by indigestible sentimentality. It is so simplistic that it’s almost a parody of movies about buddies, wives, dreams and the nothingness of ordinary life. It’s best to avoid this movie at any cost, otherwise you risks losing a piece of your soul to the worst aspect of popular movies.
