Florence and Vincent Leroy have it all: career, marriage, house children. And now they want to succeed at divorce. But destiny has different plans for them when it offers each the professional opportunity of their career – abroad. Unable to agree, the couple fights over who will have to take custody of their children.

After a segue into drama with Un illustre inconnu, screenwriter Matthieu Delaporte again teams up with his Prénom co-writer, Alexandre de la Patellière, for another irreverent popular comedy. Or: how to twist ideas on divorce with a politically incorrect story, stuffed with offbeat gags. This is both the strength and weakness of a movie lacking in finesse that doesn’t pay any real attention to the violence of its humor, which is not always clever – especially when using child abuse to feed its assembly line of jokes. The ending falls flat, but director Martin Bourboulon’s debut is nevertheless entertaining, even though it is far from the 80’s classic War of the Roses by Danny DeVito, starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.
