Directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore were the writers of the surprise success The Hangover, which resulted in a trilogy about a group of supposedly grown-up men who constantly get into strange kinds of trouble. This is the female version of their brand of trash comedy, with a story about mothers on the verge of a nervous breakdown who decide to go against stereotype and redefine the rules. A premise and a title that are closer to Neighbors than Bridesmaids, with a perfect and awful moral ending that is qualified by some really funny and off-the-wall scenes. While Mila Kunis continues to be her bland self, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn and even Christina Applegate give it their all, leaving hope of a politically incorrect version that really dares to be proper trash.
