A mechanic who is in debt and separated from the mother of his son, with no future prospects, Max meets Iris by chance. This attractive woman, married to a rich banker, offers him a deal: in exchange for a large sum of money, she wants him to kidnap her so she can escape her husband. But Max has no idea that events will take an unexpected and dangerous turn...

This twist-and-turn thriller is not simple. There is danger of parody and ridicule at every turn, capable of tipping each scene and each unexpected plot device into the absurd as the filmmaker ventures into film noir territory, with its intrigue and femme fatale. Propelled by the success of the 2014 biopic Yves Saint-Laurent, the actor/director Jalil Lespert takes on a somewhat vain exercise in style, in which he replays the great motives of the genre with a moderately amusing plotline. It is certainly entertaining, in the sense of a well-done TV movie (with beautiful artistic direction and stylish mise-en-scène), but it also raises the question of the interest and usefulness of the whole project. Especially since the film oscillates between good and bad, notably on the part of its lead actors (Romain Duris, Charlotte Le Bon, and Jalil Lespert himself).
