Les têtes de l'emploi
With duties that can be at times both nerve-wracking and satisfying, Stéphane, Cathy and Thierry are ordinary employees at a job center. When they learn that their agency has the best results in the country, their satisfaction is short-lived: because there are not enough unemployed people, management has decided to reduce expenses by laying them off. Desperate, the three come up with an elaborate plan to keep their jobs by creating more unemployment.
The premise is topical and promises to be an enjoyably disconcerting comedy, seeming to bode well in the hands of the directors of Boule & Bill and Imogène McCarthery: Alexandre Charlot and Franck Magnier, creators of colorful universes. Which makes it all the more disappointing that the result is a very formatted product, sadly lacking in the expected off-beat flavor despite a funny start. While Franck Dubosc and François-Xavier Demaison offer a base performance, Elsa Zylberstein proves to be the major asset of the film: her sweet nuttiness and ability to arouse tenderness and pity provide a good reason to be tempted to go see this movie.
