Moana
Daughter of the chief of the village, Moana is destined to lead her people, who have settled for several generations on a paradise island, protected by a barrier of coral in the middle of the ocean. But Moana dreams of more, of going on an adventure, of discovering the world and its mysteries. She is convinced that the legend told by her grandmother is true: since the demigod Maui stole a precious stone, an obscure force has spread across the world, threatening to swallow up all life in its path. Determined to save her family and invited by the ocean to embark on this quest, Moana sets sail...
Barely nine months after the release of Zootopia comes the latest Disney movie. In the meantime, there have been animated films made by other companies, such as The Secret Life of Pets, Storks, Kubo and the Two Strings, Trolls and – coming in January – Sing. But Mickey can be proud: Moana, marks the powerful return of the studio with a superbly funny, sweet and spectacular adventure. With co-directors Ron Clements and John Musker, the directors of the extremely popular Aladdin, at the helm, this very modern princess story (no prince charming, a culture far from the West, a simple and pure coming-of-age narrative) has all the ingredients to entertain young and old alike. Exciting, moving and funny, with musical sequences in the great tradition of Disney, this visually stunning adventure set in the middle of the Pacific will enthrall everyone – including those who are less receptive to animated films.
