November 22, 1963. John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States, is assassinated in Dallas. Shocked by the violence of his death, his widow, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, a First Lady admired for her elegance and culture, tries to overcome her trauma. Determined to highlight the president's political legacy and celebrate the man he was, she gives an exclusive interview to a Life magazine journalist, both writing and rewriting history.

Just few weeks ago, Pablo Larraín proved with Neruda that he doesn’t make biopics like anyone else. As conventional as it may be in the background, Jackie, devoted to President Kennedy's famous wife, is a subtle and masterful film. Natalie Portman’s performance is excellent in the pure Hollywood tradition (it’s not surprising she has been nominated for an Oscar), but it is because Larraín is interested in the complexity of the character, which is both fragile and worrisome, that the movie is a success. The result is a portrait with several dimensions and speeds, finely crafted and beautiful, more intimate and impressive than most biopics of recent years.
