Carrey's movie too gay

Judged too risqué for its overtly gay subject matter, the latest Jim Carrey movie may never be shown in US theatres for fear of its losing too much money.

Carrey's movie too gay

In «Love You Philip Morris», which is based on a true story, the wackycomedian Jim Carrey plays a father who falls in love with a man in prison and can't wait to be released so he can be reunited with him.

Despite its bankable stars, the movie hasn't found a US distributor.Industry analysts claim the subject matter and an explicit sex scene between Carrey and Ewan McGregor would be too much for most heterosexual audiences. That's the rumor anyway, but the real impulse behind the announcement may just be a publicity stunt.

With the international press always happy to perpetrate the stereotype of Americans as repressed and conservative, this pseudo scoop will most likely give the producers of the movie the equivalent of millions of dollars in free publicity.

And what better way to promote a movie, a music album, a painting or a video game than to claim it has been censored or blocked by ignorantconservatives?
