Ill with Parkinson's since 1991, the Canadian actor remains an unparalleled optimist.

Michael J. Fox, the optimist

On May 7, Michael J. Fox will host an ABC special report called «Adventures of an Incurable Optimist», in which Fox travels around the world meeting people who take advantage of the power of positive thinking. The aim of the program is to show the importance of remaining optimistic, even in difficult times.

To illustrate his point, Fox goes to Bhutan in the Himalayas, where the people's well-being is so important that their «Gross National Happiness» is regularly quantified.

The show will air just after the release of Fox's second autobiography, «Always Looking Up» (his first is called «Lucky Man»), in which he relates in detail his life as the victim of Parkinson's Disease.
