As distributors, Sony and AEG, the concert production company, are expecting huge box-office from Michael Jackson's homage film, «This is it».

This is it: Sony's boasting already

350 million dollars in the opening 5 days: it's the hefty sum Sony is hoping to cash in from cinemas screening «This is it» around the world. The documentary concentrates on Michael Jackson's last rehearsals, shot in high definition.

However, these figures are supported by hard data: after paying 60 million dollars for the distribution rights, Sony has already recouped their investment in pre-sales, even before the film's due date.

Moreover, online pre-sales have reached the highest record to date. The previous one, which represented only half of «This is it», belonged to music film «Hannah Montana».

AEG and Sony are resting assured: «This is it» will score more than Harry Potter and Spider-Man in terms of box-office.
