The west coast of the US is burning and dripping with blood. What at first seems to be a meteor shower is actually alien warships filled with violent ETs out to exploit the world's natural resources and eradicate mankind. The US army's best solution is to raze entire neighborhoods in L.A., but first the residents need to be evacuated. During such a mission, a team of marines is trapped with a family in a devastated part of Santa Monica.
