John (*Mark Wahlberg*) wishes on a star and his teddy bear comes to life. After the initial shock has worn off, Ted briefly becomes famous and their friendship continues as usual. 27 years later, John and Ted live together, taking the edge off with beers and bongs in front of the TV. At first John's girlfriend Lori (*Mila Kunis*) takes this in stride, but when they start talking marriage and his immaturity, her ultimatum is simple: it's her or the bear.
