A Chanel ad-movie tie-in

After starring as the legendary stylist in Anne Fontaine's «Coco avant Chanel», Audrey Tautou can also be seen in an ad for Chanel no 5.

The spot uses the allure of the Orient Express and the style of Coco Chanel to hawk its timeless scent.

Click on the first link to view the video and the second to learn more about the anti-Semitic past of Coco Chanel, which as been otherwise carefully avoided by the French media so far, but was reported by The Guardian in recent articles.

It goes without saying that this less chic aspect of Chanel's past is barely touched on in Anne Fontaine's movie, and of course absent in the TV spot.
