Paramount to make a «Flashdance» remake with Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez proved herself to be a major «Flashdance» fan in the video to her single «I'm Glad», imitating the dance performance from the 1983 cult movie step by step. Paramount, the production company for the film, was not impressed and initially launched a law suit, but they may be seeing things in a new light.
After shooting a dance scene for her video of «I'm Glad», Jennifer Lopez was slapped with a lawsuit by Paramount movie bosses, who charged her with copyright infringement for copying a routine from «Flashdance» too closely. But they seem nonetheless to have been impressed by Lopez's dancing skills, and are now in talks for a remake of the 80's movie with her in the lead. Not a bad idea – the fairy tale about a hardworking welder who dreams of becoming aprofessional dancer fits perfectly with Lopez' Cinderella image. In 1983, «Flashdance», lead actor Jennifer Beals and the title song «What A Feeling» were inescapable.
