Extraterrestrial monsters invade Los Angeles, swallowing up everyone in their path.

Two friends who have had very successful lives meet up again in a trendy neighborhood of Los Angeles, with their girlfriends in tow. After a well-lubricated evening, the hipsters are surprised by lights from the sky that literally suck up anyone who looks into its glare. Barricaded in their high-tech apartment, the group of friends discover that enormous spaceships are hovering over the city, and that tentacled monsters are destroying Los Angeles to feed off human brains...

Big-breasted chicks, buff heroes, aliens, chases and simplistic dialogs make up this low budget horror/sci-fi flick, which, perhaps logically enough, has no brain. It's amazing that Skyline, which helps itself to material from District 9 and Cloverfield, is being released in theaters and has not gone directly to DVD.
