Immortals
Theseus against Hyperion: visually powerful mythological epic by Tarsem Singh and the producers of 300.
The Titan Hyperion (Michey Rourke) goes on a murderous spree throughout Greece, leaving behind a bloody trail of destruction. His objective is to find a legendary bow, which he wants to use to free the rest of the Titans from Tartarus - where they have been imprisoned by the gods - and take revenge on the Olympians. Zeus sends the mortal warrior Theseus (Henry Cavill) out to save the world and stop the evil Hyperion.
Indian director Tarsem Singh, known for a handful of classic MTV videos like REM’s "Losing My Religion", teams up with the producers of 300 for a highly stylized heroic epic. The movie is electrifying, visually stunning and impressive: when Olympus seems doomed to destruction and even the gods need a hero, the screen shakes. Immortals comes alive with impressive visuals, intoxicating sound and buckets of blood. But the story only vaguely adheres to the legend of Theseus and the Titanomachy; like 300 and innumerable other movies, the plot and characters remain superficial.
