While Bachelorette may sound like the highly successful Bridesmaids, any similarities are superficial. Becky (Rebel Wilson) is getting married. Her control freak friend Regan (Kirsten Dunst) is the maid of honor and thereby in charge of the details, while party girl Katie (Isla Fisher) and cynical Gena (Lizzy Caplan) are mainly looking forward to being guests. But slights and feuds from their high school past haven't been dealt with, which will make the bachelorette party a wild mess.

Leslye Headland's Bachelorette is much darker than Bridesmaids, but both movies profit from an excellent cast with perfect comedic timing. And they also ring in a new genre: stories about women who can be just as complex, broken and hilarious as men.
