A systematic serial killer plies his knife in a large American city.

Left by his morally bankrupt mother as a child, Franck (Elijah Wood) overcomes his shyness to meet girls whom he scalps on their first date. As the owner of a mannequin restoration shop, he has a storeroom in the back filled with effigies of his victims wearing the scalps he took. But when he meets Anna, a photographer whose new exhibition gives life to mannequins through a light installation, Franck becomes obsessed. He tries to seduce her by all means while suppressing his homicidal urges. Will he manage not to kill her?

This horror flick remake of William Lustig's 1980 movie is superficial and simplistic. Psychologically Freudian to the extreme as well as nauseating, the parade of surgically scalped beauties will thrill gore fans. All female viewers have to hope for that they will make it home after a date with their head still attached and their hair unmussed, and that the mother of their next dates were good to their sons during the first year of their lives.
