The Devil Inside
A woman tries to find out why her possessed mother killed three people 20 years before.
20 years ago in the United States, a woman commits three murders and claims responsibility. She is then incarcerated in an asylum in Rome. Her daughter grows up and tries to understand why her mother would do such a thing and suspects she was possessed by a demon. She goes to an exorcism school accompanied by a cameraman, hoping to convince two priests to help her despite not having approval from the Vatican, because they mix science with religious beliefs. But the demon also has disciples and the members of the film crew have their work cut out for them.
Although the movie posters for William Brent Bell's film are chilling and a freaky promo trailer has a blind nun seemingly staring at viewers, this pseudo documentary, steadycam horror flick offers only a few really scary moments for masochistic veterans used to much harder fare. For the rest, it's enough to follow the advice of the taglines on the afore-mentioned posters: "This is the Film the Vatican Doesn't Want You to See" and "Don't Go Alone".
