Movie Rating: Geoffrey Crété

An adolescent on the run since childhood falls in love for the first time.

Because his father is a fugitive from justice after having taken him and his brother from their mother 11 years before, Sylvain, 16, and Pierre, 18, have lived their lives hidden from the world, always in fear and having to run to the next hideout. When Pierre has had enough and leaves, Sylvain and his father go on the road again. They stay on an island on the Loire where Sylvain, lost without his brother, meets Gilda. Over the summer, first love turns into the realization that what lies before Sylvain is his own beautiful life.

Adolescent dreams bathed in light, timeless settings that underline the magic of first emotions, and young, tender, vital and fantastic actors. Jean Denizot’s debut, inspired by real events, announces his cinematic ambitions, which are remarkable enough to keep him on the radar in future. The same goes for Zacharie Chasseriaud, who’s impeccable performance is reminiscent of Emile Hirsch.
