On the run, a black metal band hides out in an isolated French country village.
The Dead Makabés, a black metal band whose career is at risk of ending before it has begun, exists thanks to the tenacity of its charismatic leader, Alexandre (Julien Doré). The alpha male singer is feared by his band members, who prefer to let go of their adolescent musical aspirations in favor of their families and jobs, even as they try not to ruin Alexandre's dreams of glory. Meanwhile, the singer has managed by chance to get them a gig at one of the most prestigious black metal festivals. But once they're on the road, the tour turns into a nightmare: after being considered responsible for a murder, the band goes on the run camouflaged as a Beatles cover band. They find a hide-out in a tiny, cheerful village in mid-strawberry fair festivities – nothing could be worse for a satanic metal band...
Outlaws on tour: what seems like fun actually is, if only thanks to comical situations caused by their Kiss make-up seen by the light day. But the wisecracks are only enough for the first stop on their crazy tour. The relaxed atmosphere and comic book set design of the movie gives it a somewhat entertaining but unfinished character. No reason to howl at the moon or run out and get the band's name tattooed on your shoulder.
