An American IT tech and a French cleaning lady meet in a Parisian hotel.

Roissy Airport, Paris. In this mechanical, glacial setting, lost between time and cultures, two completely different people meet: Gary, an American IT tech and Audrey, a French cleaning lady who works in his hotel. He decides to leave his wife, his children, his work – his life – in the middle of the night. She, meanwhile, continues, day after day, to let herself drift along according to the comings and goings of others. Until an incredible event turns her life upside down...

Director Pascale Ferran’s title, Bird People, declares her intent: the film has to be discovered through a veil of mystery for its strength to be maintained. Because under its social, international story hides a curious fable about solitude and the speed of our world, which crushes individuals and their dreams. The improbable duo played by Josh Charles and Anaïs Demoustier create a captivating score, both light and serious, within an unexpected and unforeseeable film, charming in its strange atmosphere and slick directing. It will also leave some audience members confused.
