Mea Culpa
Guilty of causing an accident that killed three people six years before, a former cop goes back to work.
It has been six years since Simon (Vincent Lindon) lost everything: when he got drunk with his colleagues and crashed his car into three people, killing them. His friend Franck ( Gilles Lellouche), who was with him that night, tries to help him however he can. This includes teaming up with Simon when the man’s son sees mobsters commit a crime and becomes their target. And so the two get involved in a war against the mob as they try to save Simon’s son, flouting the usual police codes of duty and obligation, and ignoring the law in the process. Along the way, Simon beings to get his life back...
Typical cop thriller stuffed with action. Despite a few implausibilities that lead to a bloodbath, this cowboy duo has enough charisma to make most of them more or less unimportant. But this “dick flick” and its car chases and gunfire may leave – mainly female – audiences unimpressed.
