American taxpayers foot the bill to promote animated flick

According to Nikki Finke, one of the most feared and read journalists in Hollywood, the big American bank is giving away free vouchers to customers for an upgrade to see the movie in 3D instead of 2D.

This after the bank just received a $45 billion bailout from the government, i.e. the taxpayers – which is perhaps why there was no large-scale announcement of the scheme.

It was after discussions turned up on Twitter and other forums that analysts, investigating the promotion more closely, discovered that the president of DreamWorks, which produced the film, also used to be the vice chairman and CFO of the Bank of America.

Even better, the promotion is not just open to the bank's customers, but also to those with an e-mail address – in other words, everyone! At 4 tickets to the 3D version of «Monster vs. Aliens» for the price of the 2D version ($3) to anyone who writes in, this means that the Bank of America, which was saved from bankruptcy just a few months ago with money provided by the taxpayers of the United States, is mostly likely turning over millions of that money to help increase the revenues of «Monster vs. Aliens».
