Curiosity killed the cat

According to Rachel McAdams, actors feel so much pressure about being in the nude on screen that they now try and bypass love scenes.

In an interview with American magazine Parade to promote her next film, «The Time Traveler's Wife», the young actress let loose: «It shouldn't be a big deal, but it is. I think this overemphasis with nudity makes actors nervous.»

The Hollywood beauty, who shot to fame with romantic drama «The Notebook», explains that if today, actors and actresses often turn down nude scenes with much ado, it's because they're scared of finding images of themselves on the Net: «What bothers me is our culture's obsession with nudity. [...] There's the worry about seeing one's body dissected, misrepresented, played and replayed on the Internet.»

Rachel McAdams adds that for a fictional character to strip is part of the actor's job, that «it's as normal and mundane as eating breakfast.» However, nudity in Hollywood has always been taboo: from the 1950's strict moral code to Tom Cruise forbidding his wife Katie Holmes to shoot love scenes, mainstream American productions tend to avoid sticking too close to reality.
