Forbes' Celebs
Once a year, Forbes Magazine releases a top-100 list of celebrities from the cinema, television, music and sports industries, ranked according to their media-related influence and estimated annual income.
In 2009, it is Brad Pitt's partner and star of «The Changeling» and «Wanted» Angelina Jolie who lands first, for her media presence over the course of the year. She pushes Oprah Winfrey down one spot, despite earning a tenth of the television celebrity's income, estimated at 275 million dollars, compared to Jolie's «meagre» 27 million dollars.
Madonna, Beyoncé Knowles, Bruce Springsteen, golfer Tiger Woods and basketball player Kobe Bryant closely follow, with Steven Spielberg and Jennifer Aniston ranked respectively 7th and 8th. As for Brad Pitt, he must be scratching his head trying to understand how his wife and his ex ever managed to outstrip him.
Also from the cinema industry, Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep are introduced to the list for the first time in their career, taking ranks 91 and 64. A dab at coincidental humour: rapper 50 Cent scores the 50th place.
