Pitt and Soderbergh play baseball

Brad Pitt to play a baseball manager in Steven Soderbergh's new movie.

William Lamar «Billy» Beane was the general manager of the Oakland A's, who, with the help of a Harvard grad, introduced a revolutionary system for drafting successful players who were less expensive than high end players. A movie about his life, «Moneyball'», is now being shot by Steven Soderbergh.

Beane is played by Brad Pitt, with real baseball players in supporting roles. «Moneyball» has been adapted from the book of the same name by Michael Lewis, a bestseller in the US.
